Organization skills are a key ingredient for success in school, and in life.  Good organization will put routines and systems in place to help your child keep it together.  Here is a list of organization strategies that you can use to help your child get, and keep, their life under control.

1. Use checklists.
2. Organise homework assignments.
3. Designate a study space.
4. Keep organized notebooks.
5. Conduct a weekly chean-up.
6. Prepare for the day ahead.

Along with organization skills, work and study habits are very important.  Here are some areas, with examples, of work and study habits we discuss in the classroom:

1. Attendance - The student asks about the work they missed when away, and completes all the work that was missed.
2. Punctuality - The student arrives to class on time in the morning, and is ready to begin class by the second morning bell.
3. Organization - The student keeps an organised notebook where pages are in chronological order, pages are dated, and the student has all necessary supplies ready (ie Math notebook, text, ruler, and pencil for Math)
4. Effort - The student shows a willingness to learn, seeks help with necessary, and strives to learn by showing improvement.
5. Cooperation - The student follows classroom procedures, respects ideas and opinions of others, and actively participates in all activities.
6. Attentiveness - The student follows instructions and concentrates on the task at hand.
